PBL Interferonsource is searching for a highly organized, detail-oriented, independent worker to support and lead the growth of our Assay Services unit. In this position, you will execute antiviral and other bioassays, as well as ELISAs for characterization of customer samples. In addition, you will be responsible for developing new and/or custom assays for our customers.
The ideal candidate will be able to understand the science to a level where they can answer customer queries and assist in determining the best process to obtain the information the customer requires. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and should be highly skilled at bioassay design and execution. This includes the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems and perform complicated data analysis. A B.S. in life sciences with 1+ yrs’ industry experience in cell based assays, tissue culture and ELISAs is required. Must be highly responsible with ability to efficiently multi-task, good math and, data analysis skills. Hands on involvement with mammalian cell culture and assay execution is necessary. Excellent customer service along with strong written and verbal communication skills needed. Must be highly attentive to detail and well organized. Direct customer relations experience is preferred. Solid computer skills (MS Office) required.
PBL is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to ensure the quality of PBL products by testing raw materials and finished products; perform release and stability bioassay testing of Interferons and antibodies, and conduct release testing of manufactured ELISA kits. In addition, the QC Scientist will perform bioassays to troubleshoot relevant customer complaints and design and initiate experiments and projects to improve the quality of PBL reagents; write, develop, and revise QC procedures & SOPs; assist with document control and record keeping and perform routine preventive maintenance on lab equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess a B.S degree or equivalent in the biological sciences with 1-2 yrs relevant laboratory experience including strong working knowledge of running ELISAs. Experience with cell-culturing and cell based assays, basic protein characterization, absorbance spectroscopy, SDS-PAGE gel, Kinetic Endotoxin is highly preferred. Any QA/QC experience is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude are necessary. Must be able to work independently and be willing to serve as back-up to the manufacturing/production and product development departments as needed designing and performing ELISA testing and vialing finish products. Working knowledge of MS Office required; Soft Max Pro a plus.
